One of the things that I learned as an Entrepreneur is about the importance of having CORE VALUES.
When I Google “core values” as part of writing this blog, this is what I found:
“Core values are the fundamental beliefs of a person or organization. These guiding principles dictate behavior and can help people understand the difference between right and wrong. Core values also help companies to determine if they are on the right path and fulfilling their goals by creating an unwavering guide.”
Core Values is something that started a lot before I became an Entrepreneur.
As a child, my parents always stressed the important of exchange. If there is one thing I learned in my childhood is that to get anything you want in life you have to EXCHANGE for it.
People consider fair exchange in different ways.
It is not always money.
Think about it: a parent receives his exchange from his child by having the child smile at the parent, give the parent a hug, and just flow some love back. The parent would consider this to be the perfect exchange. If the child gave the parent some money, that would be worthless to the parents.
I learned from an early age that the best exchange you can give someone is to HELP.
It is not only good for the person, it is good for me too.
And that is why I think the most important CORE VALUE for me personally, in my business, and in my life, is to help people.
What I communicate to someone, what I tell someone, what I do for someone, needs to be HELPFUL.
I wanted to share a great video from the late Steve Jobs, where he talks about Core Values of Apple.
Lots to be learned from that video.
Now ask yourself:
What are your core values?
What do you consider to be the things you stand for?
What are your non-negotiables in life and in business?
What do you stand for?
If you can formulate that for yourself, I am sure your business and life will have the right foundation for success.
